“At the end of the day, you are the only one limiting your ability to dream, or to actually execute on your dreams. Don’t let yourself get in the way of that.”
Falon Fatemi
I feel that this quote fits perfect with what I feel drawn to talk about this morning. In my head it all makes sense and is something that comes easy to my mind but as I try to type it out I find my self struggling to find the right words to use. Have you ever sat there and looked at your life and wondered how it would be if you had done something different instead of the path that you did choose? I find myself doing this more then Id like to admit. I am happy with my current life, but I still find myself thinking about how things would be if I had done certain things different. When I first felt called to write about this topic I thought I was supposed to write about the things that I think about “What if I had done that differently” I had taken a step back that day and coming back to it this morning with a clear mind with this quote I feel like there was a whole different purpose I just didn’t quite see yet. We tend to live in the past more then we want to admit, and when it comes time to do anything we can’t because we are stuck. For me this feeling is that I am failing my family, or the decisions that I am making isn’t the best one for them. I find myself needing to be reminding of this quote that I found from Sarah Ban Breathnach, “Be grateful for the home you have, knowing that at this moment, all you have is all you need.” Instead of dwelling on the things that I feel like I should have done differently I need to start living in the present. I need to be more focused with wants in front of me then what is behind me, as I can sculpt what is Infront of me. What is behind me is already art on a canvas.
I hope that this brings you the strength that you may need to look at today with new eyes. To see it as a current art piece if you may say, and continue sculpting it into something beautiful that represents the life you are currently living with those around you, and not one that you wish you was living. Remember keep walking forward, don’t walk backwards it won’t get us where we are wanting to go. We want to move to bigger beginnings and if we stay in the past we wont be able to do that.
